Needles and Notions

I’m now carrying ChiaoGoo double point needles as well as the adorable ChiaoGoo Tiny Tools case.

I love the 5 inch dpns and they have such nice pointy points. I use them for my socks and fingerless mitts.  The bamboo is nice and smooth as well as warm. The points make it easy to knit twisted stitches, lace and small cables.

Yarn Giveaway!!

This is exciting!  http://www.sunsetcat.com/2010/08/05/fall-knitcircus-giveaway/

Silky Cowl

Rio Grande (above), and Ruby (right). Two new Silky Sock colors I just finished dyeing and posted on my website.  I think Ruby would be great for dressing up a holiday outfit and/or complimenting the rich colors of the Fall. Rio Grande was inspired by a painting my great-aunt did of the view of Juarez, Mexico from across the Rio Grande river. I love the soft turquoise and violet mixed with the gold. The cowl used just 1/2 a skein of Rio Grande so I was able to knit a second one for a gift.  I cast on 79 sts using two strands held together on a size US 15 16″ circular needle. I knit in seed stitch for about 6 ” and then cast off loosely. Its soft and light and oh so nice around my neck! It’s also long enough to wrap twice.

Summer Sale

I’m cleaning house and shop and its time for a SUMMER SALE – YEAH!

Closeout yarns, one and two of a kinds and yarns that I don’t carry on my website are now listed on sale on etsy here while supplies last.

Knitcircus

I’m excited to be interviewed by Knitcircus on the Knitcircus blog. If you haven’t checked out the online Knitcircus Magazine you’ve been missing out on great patterns and ideas. It has nice collections of unique and original patterns along with book reviews, recipes and sewing ideas- definately something for everyone.

With a new purchase of Handwerks yarn I’ll include a coupon from Knitcircus for a free copy of the Knitcircus Summer 2010 Pattern Collection pdf (while coupon supplies last).

Classic Sock

I’ve just re-introduced a great yarn. Classic Sock yarn is 100% superwash merino, 3-ply , nice and round, springy, soft, smooth and shiny.  Its packaged in 100 gram skeins/480 yards. Its plenty for a pair of socks. Last year it was under the name of Necessary 3-ply and its come back this year with its own new name.

I’ll be dyeing and posting it in small 5 skein batches, 4-6 colors every 3-4 weeks as time and stock permits. I got a great deal on this yarn and am able to offer it at a great price to you!

Sneak peak of some of the colors –

So-Soft Sock – new colors

I’ve just posted some new colors of the So-Soft Sock.

Super DK on SALE

I’ve put the last of the Super DK on SALE – for an early Holiday gift. There are less than 10 skeins left of this yarn. I am tempted to keep them for myself as this yarn knits up into wonderfully soft hats and scarves – I’m going to resist it for a few days and offer it to you! When this is gone its gone. It was a special purchase from a top rated bale of British Merino. So soft and dreamy………..

Introducing the New Sport Sock Yarn

I’m so excited to offer a new yarn. Its a multi-ply, 8 plies to be exact, tightly twisted, dense, springy, stretchy 100% superwash merino sport weight yarn! It comes in 65 gram skeins. Each skein has 214 yards, so you will need two skeins for a pair of socks. Its a wonderful weight and feels great knit up!.

I also have a beautiful Peacock Rib sock pattern available free with the purchase of this yarn. The pattern was designed exclusively for Handwerks Sport Sock yarn by Jocelyn Blair.

Treat yourself to an early Holiday gift!
